These guidelines are meant to make this site more effective by creating the proper atmosphere for healing. Remember, this is a Christian forum and you are encouraged to share your testimony or to share stories about how God is helping you through separation or divorce. Share scriptures that are particularly meaningful to you. It is also appropriate for you to share your problems and specific difficulties you are having during this time in your life. If you have the answer to a specific question someone is asking, share it, i.e. “How do you cope with your children’s questions?” and so forth. If you have an opinion that you think may help someone, share it. The goal is to help others as well as receiving help ourselves by sharing together this process we are all going through.
Maintain Confidentiality. It is appropriate to discuss issues on this site but not to talk about specific people. However, be completely aware that this format of discussion is not confidential and the things you share are indeed public.
Share. You are encouraged to share your issues. It is in sharing that healing often comes. Specifically we encourage those who may not be particularly verbally outspoken to share your thoughts on this site.
Be Sensitive. Recovery is a vulnerable stage of healing, just like a physical injury; the wounds are open and need care. In sharing your views it is important to be sensitive to other people and their needs, taking into consideration what they are experiencing and where they are in this process.
Dating. This site is not designed to encourage dating, however dating after divorce is a very common concern therefore, dating experiences and/or opinions regarding dating may be shared.
Be Well Mannered. Please make every effort to avoid writing about others (especially your former spouse) in slanderous, disparaging or contemptuous terms. To be negative about another person never helps the situation and it brings you down. Foul language and off-color references will not be tolerated.
Be Encouraging. Remember, this site is designed to encourage and uplift those who are suffering through a separation or divorce, or the aftermath of the same. It is possible to share even the painful things you are going through without getting into negative messages or stories that do not edify anyone, so please try to stay away from those.
